Update From Your Pastors

Dear Welling Church family,

Are you seeking and savouring the Word of God in your life?

Retaining and memorising Bible verses is a spiritual discipline that many Christians struggle to put into practice. Even though it could be challenging to study the Word consistently, the reward is worth it.

The Bible is not like other books. Holy Scripture is alive and active. It is able to pierce our very souls and discern our thoughts. It is helpful, useful, and edifying for all believers. The triune God speaks to His people by and through His Word. For this reason, it remains ever important to hold fast to its verses during any and every season of life.

In what ways do you regularly and personally memorise God’s Word?

Try memorising a new verse each week. Write out the verse. Write it out on a notecard. Write it out on several notecards. Place these notecards in areas where you would see them often. Study them with a friend. Have your friend quiz you on them. Have your friend keep you accountable t this study.

As you begin to study and learn Scripture, God will transform your heart and life as you dwell on His Words.

Psalm 119:9-11
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Don’t forget to invite your friends, family, and neighbours to our Sunday service at 11:00am! Our desire is to reach and teach our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for being part of the church!
