Living life together through fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.
We were not created to be alone but to live in fellowship. Small groups exist to help us grow closer to God and one another. Making an effort to be a part of the community of God will bring about the change and purpose we are looking for in God.

Home Gatherings
These are our primary small groups; they occur three times a year for 6-10 weeks each time. In January, all groups do the same study to allow the church to start the year together. Then, in the following two terms, each group does a different study to allow for a wide variety of Biblical topics to be learned.
Men’s & Women’s
Throughout the year, we have ongoing men’s and women’s small groups that we would love for you to join. We also do various men’s and women's events where we will have a large gathering to share a meal, worship, or have teaching from the Word of God.
Special Groups
We offer special small groups that aim to connect, grow, or pray between our main home gatherings. Whether it is a prayer night, 3 week intensive on a theology, or a church membership class; we hope to provide something extra to help you in your walk with God.
Home Gatherings
Our small group gatherings allow our church to continue spiritual fellowship and Bible teaching in different homes across our community each night of the week. Read below to find out more about the locations, times, and current studies that are taking place each term. We often offer groups for young adults and women only as well.

7 Shifts to Align Your Church with Jesus’s Mission
How can church leaders focus on what really matters? So much of our attention as leaders can be wrapped up in activities that don’t contribute to the essential task Jesus gave us as a church—making disciples who make disciples. Every ministry in our churches should work toward the goal of forming people who love Jesus, spend time with him, and live like him. In this seven-session series, pastor and author Jeff Vanderstelt shares seven key shifts we need to make to cultivate disciples in our churches who love God and others.

Men’s & Women’s
Gender-specific ministries are a vital part of the discipleship formula here at Welling Church. We seek to have regular Bible studies for men and women as well as several scattered throughout the year. Please visit our events page to see when the next men’s or women's event is.
Baby Steps
Baby Steps meets every Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 to provide support to mums with under 5s. We meet in the back hall with plenty of space for the little ones to run and crawl around while the mums do a short Bible study and pray. It’s a great time of encouragement and support. If you would like to attend or need more information, please contact Rachel@WellingChurch.com.
Bible Study
Women’s Bible Study
Through out the year we have several opportunites to meet up each week with women to study the Bible or go through a Christian book together. Most groups are during the day but a few times of the year we do have an evening or even an online group. If you would like to attend or need more information, please contact Rachel@WellingChurch.com.
Men’s Bible Study
Once a month, our men gather to go deep into God’s Word to develop themselves into the spiritual leaders God wants them to be at home and church. We discuss a chapter of a theology book and a chapter of a practical ministry book before praying together. If you are interested in joining in, please get in touch with Pastor Jonathan@WellingChurch.com.
Events
Here are some of the regular events for Men and Women we do throughout the year. Please visit our events page to see when the next men’s or women's event is.
Special Groups
Scattered throughout the year, we have unique small group opportunities that look to help connect us closer to God and each other. These groups typically are only one to three weeks in length and look to help develop people theologically, introduce them to a new topic, or gather to pray and worship.
-
Coming together as a church to pray over a specific area and/or need. We are never more connected as a church than when praying to our Heavenly Father. These evenings happen quarterly at Welling Church, and you can join from home online for those who can’t make it in person.
-
Once one has accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour and been baptised, the next step is to join the church. We are designed to live together in Christ's community, the church, which is also His body. These three-week groups happen twice a year and help those considering making Welling Church their home understand the benefits, requirements, and opportunities of being a church member.
-
Have you ever wanted to dive deeper into Christology, Soteriology, Pneumatology, Escatology, etc? These groups are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the specific truth of God and His Word from the pastors.
-
This night is dedicated to asking the pastors questions about God and His Word. Finding answers in the Bible to our questions, whether big or small, can be a massive help in our journey with Christ and will strengthen others’ faith as well.
-
Giving opportunities to focus on a specific area of our life (marriage, parenting, finances, healthy habits, etc.) can bring practical change and benefits to people’s lives. These brilliant groups seek to apply our spiritual walk with God to the tangible parts of our lives.
